Two die in Empangeni crash

Two people lost their lives in a single-vehicle accident in Empangeni on Friday night.

The crash occurred shortly after midnight on Main Road, between Biyela and Maxwell streets.

According to reports from the scene, the vehicle was travelling from the CBD towards the Rail when it veered off the road and crashed into a tree.

Emergency services, including City of uMhlathuze Fire and Rescue, who extricated the entrapped occupants.

Both occupants were declared deceased on scene.
