Empangeni Ward 23 public meeting postponed

Empangeni’s public meeting delayed as city leaders face criticism; new date to be announced

Residents will be disappointed to hear that the Empangeni Ward 23 public meeting, which was scheduled for this Wednesday, 4 June, has been postponed.

Key leaders from the City of uMhlathuze were summoned to the gathering following a heated meeting with over 80 fuming residents last month.

According to Ward 23 Cllr Andre de Lange, who was frustrated about the cancellation, the event has been postponed at the request of the city speaker.

A new date and time will be announced once confirmed.

At the previous meeting, many expressed outrage over long-standing unresolved issues, calling for the mayor and city manager to answer.
