Mthonjaneni branch leaders empowered through training
IFP conducts training for branch leaders in Mthonjaneni
Every leadership structure in a political organisation has a role to play in achieving the party’s mission.
This was the message shared by IFP organiser in the Mthonjaneni Constituency, Nokwanda Shobede, during Ward 11 branch training at Mabhula Creche on Sunday.
Shobede, who is also a Cluster Four leader in the same constituency, said all sub-structures, including the Women’s Brigade and Youth Brigade, have mandates to achieve.
“As local leaders of the Women’s Brigade, you don’t need to ask permission from branch leaders to convene a meeting, as long as it’s to discuss women-related matters. You also have a right to invite national or provincial leaders to help if you need to assist women in this area,” she explained.
Shobede also called for women to be involved in the economic development of their areas, while upholding the party’s constitution.
Cluster leader Phumlani Ntombela, who serves as Mthonjaneni deputy mayor, was delighted with the training, saying, “It is up to them now to play their part.”
