Lengthy clean-up operation after fatal N2 accident

THE N2 is expected to remain closed at Bridge 10 (Amatikulu River) until about 6.30pm today (Saturday) following the earlier collision between an LPG tanker and a light motor vehicle.

According to IPSS Medical Rescue, 3 female occupants in the car – 2 of whom are teenagers – are deceased while 1 male is in critical condition and another is seriously injured.

IPSS Search and Rescue and Mandeni Fire Department worked to extract the entrapped occupant while under the care of IPSS Medical Rescue.

The injured occupants were transported to hospital for further medical care.

The sole occupant of the truck suffered minor injuries.

Traffic is being diverted off the N2 at the Mandeni offramp.
