Damaging winds forecast for KZN north coast
KZN coastline from Richards Bay to Kosi Bay under weather warning for damaging winds.
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a yellow level 1 warning for damaging winds expected between Richards Bay and Kosi Bay.
The warning is in place from 2pm today (Wednesday) until 11pm tonight, with wind speeds of between 15 and 25 knots, gusting to 30 – 35 knots.
According to the weather desk’s forecast, potential impacts include:
• Localised disruption of small harbours
• Small vessels at risk of taking on water or capsizing
• Difficulty in navigation
While a level 1 warning has minor impacts, residents and seafarers are advised to exercise caution.
