WATCH: Pedestrian killed in Empangeni accident

One pedestrian was killed and another critically injured when they were hit by a vehicle on the Western Bypass towards Ngwelezane in Empangeni this (Wednesday) afternoon.

According to reports from the scene, the vehicle involved was travelling from Ngwelezane towards Empangeni when the accident occurred.

The driver, who sustained moderate injuries, and the critically injured pedestrian were treated on scene by Mounties EMS paramedics before being transported to nearby hospitals for further medical care.

All emergency services attended the accident scene, which obstructed the flow of traffic while the patients were being attended to and the debris cleared.
