Weather warning: Cold and disruptive rain forecast for Saturday
Disruptive rain forecast for parts of the Zululand region as cold front settles over KZN
Chilly wet weather conditions have been forecast for parts of KZN tomorrow (Saturday).
A cold front has settled over parts of the province, with temperatures expected to drop to as low as 15 degrees Celsius in eShowe, Mtunzini, Ulundi, Jozini and Melmoth.
Richards Bay and Empangeni are expected to reach 19 degrees Celsius on Saturday.
The SA Weather Service (SAWS) on Friday issued a yellow level 2 warning for disruptive rains in uMlalazi, Mandeni and KwaDukuza, among other areas in the province.
Disruptive rainfall could lead to localised flooding of low-lying areas and bridges.
Motorists are also warned to exercise caution as the bad weather could cause poor visibility on the roads.
“Isolated showers and rain are expected, but scattered along the south coast of KZN.
“Around 30 to 50mm of rainfall is expected along the south coast of KZN, leading to localised flooding due to the persistence of rainfall over those areas,” the SAWS stated.
