Information sought in Bay missing person case

Family appeals for community assistance to find Richards Bay man Roy Uppink who went missing in May

The search is ongoing for Richards Bay resident Roy Uppink who was last seen leaving his home two months ago.

It is believed the 73 year old left his house in Jacopever Street, Meerensee in May to go for a walk but never returned home.

His family have appealed to the public for any information relating to his disappearance.

Meerensee CPF has conducted searches in the greenbelts and throughout the suburb, to no avail.

The CPF’s Melinda Ashington said they have followed up on leads, but they have all been dead ends. She said they have also visited the residence and spoke to neighbours for more information.

According to family spokesperson Lauren van Staden, details around Uppink’s disappearance are vague, and anyone with information is urged to contact her on 061 5172238.
