Eight suspects fled the scene after reportedly stealing a number of cash boxes

Esikhaleni Mall was a no-go zone this (Thursday) afternoon after a cash-in-transit (CIT) heist took place.

According to reports from the scene, there were eight suspects in two vehicles – a Polo and a Toyota – who targeted the Sport Scene entrance to the mall.

It is believed a cash vehicle was delivering money to Capitec Bank at the time of the robbery.
