WATCH: Monkey survives cruel pellet shot to head

Despite illegalities of discharging airguns in public, vervet monkey shootings in Richards Bay continue unabated

Monkey cruelty continues in Richards Bay, the latest victim a vervet that was found injured in Arboretum after having been shot in the head with a pellet gun.

The distressed animal was sitting atop a lamp post at a local school and was captured by Richards Bay SPCA.

It was taken to a nearby veterinary clinic, where an X-ray revealed a pellet lodged in its head.
