160+ KZN motorists arrested in 3 weekends

KZN Road Traffic Inspectorate and SAPS team nab drivers for various traffic violations

Driving under the influence of alcohol continues to be a challenge for KZN with more than 160 motorists arrested in three weekends.

According to KZN MEC for Transport and Human Settlements Siboniso Duma, within two hours, the department’s Road Traffic Inspectorate and SAPS team arrested six motorists in Umlazi for drunk driving.

“This is a clear indication that the RTI team is executing my mandate with a higher sense of urgency. We thank the Provincial Commissioner Lt General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi for deploying teams of law enforcement officers to ensure that we clean up our road networks,” said Duma.
