Traditional healer abandons bail

Traditional healer charged with possession of human tissue abandons bail bid

A traditional healer facing charges of possession of human tissue has abandoned his bail application.

The accused, Aizeque Zacaria Cumbuia (26) appeared before the Ga-Rankuwa Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.

Cumbuia was arrested on 7 August, in a room where he was practising as a traditional healer.

National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) regional spokesperson in the Gauteng division, Lumka Mahanjana, alleges that the human tissue was discovered by police officers when they were conducting investigations in relation to a Brits murder case in which a woman was killed, her body parts removed, and her body burnt.

“The matter was postponed to 14 October for further investigation,” said Mahanjana.
