Drowning prevention awareness event in Richards Bay

Head to the Bay Hall area in Richards Bay on Heritage Day for an informative drown prevention event

This Wednesday, 24 September, a collaboration by local organisations will lead a Drown Prevention Awareness event at the Bay Hall (beach area) in Richards Bay.

Running from 9am to 1pm, the day aims to educate the community on how to stay safe in and around water.

As this area has had several drownings over the years, especially during peak holiday times, there will also be live demonstrations showing the locations of the dangerous drop-off points in the water, which may appear safe but can pose serious risks.

The day will feature informative talks by experienced lifeguards and emergency services, offering practical advice on water safety, rescue procedures, and how to respond in case of an emergency.
