Call for strong, credible branch structures

'For a political party to survive, it must have structures', says IFP President Velenkosini Hlabisa

IFP President Velenkosini Hlabisa has urged members to establish credible branches as the foundation for strengthening the party ahead of the 2026 local elections.

Addressing scores of IFP members at Shane Sports Ground in uMvoti Constituency under uMzinyathi District, Hlabisa emphasised that branches remain the engine of the party.

“For a political party to survive, it must have structures. The basic structure of the party is the branches, and the branches are the party’s engine. If the engine is dead, the organisation cannot live,” said Hlabisa.

He was invited to Ward 4 in uMvoti to honour long-serving Councillor Vincent Zondi, who has served the community since 1996.
