Legacy Cup postponed to November

Date change for Prince Mangosuthu Legacy Cup

The Prince Mangosuthu Legacy Cup 2025, scheduled for Prince Mangosuthu Regional Stadium in Ulundi this Saturday, has been postponed to Sunday, 16 November at the same venue.

The decision was taken by Zululand District Municipality (ZDM) after one of the participating teams announced its unavailability due to Confederation of African Football (CAF) commitments.

“The teams approached us to consider a postponement due to player injuries and continental travel commitments during the weekend of 18 to 19 October,” said ZDM Mayor Michael Khumalo.

“After careful consideration and consultation with all four participating clubs, the municipality acceded to the request, and a unanimous agreement was reached to move the tournament to a later date.

“Although this was a difficult decision to make, we had to consider the reasons presented by the clubs and the need to preserve the quality and competitiveness of the tournament.”

He said all four clubs have reaffirmed their commitment to participate on the new date.

“We apologise to all supporters who had already purchased tickets. We are pleased to confirm that all previously purchased tickets will remain valid. I want to thank all the clubs for their commitment in collectively agreeing on a way forward,” Khumalo concluded.
