Most wanted murder suspects nabbed in uMkhanyakude

Sting operations in uMkhanyakude net 6 suspects, 2 in possession of R1m worth of dagga.

Two most wanted murder suspects were among four who were arrested by the uMkhanyakude District Police Task Team during a sting operation last Wednesday.

Each of the two was charged with murder, attempted murder, and possession of illegal firearms and ammunition. Both were found in possession of a 9mm during their arrest.

uMkhanyakude Cluster police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Sibusiso Mkhize said 14 live rounds of ammunition and a signal jamming device were also recovered.Both suspects appeared before uBombo and eManguzi Magistrate’s Courts on Thursday, and were remanded in custody pending police investigation.

They are expected to appear again tomorrow (Thursday) for a formal bail application.

In another incident, police on Saturday intercepted two suspect vehicles and recovered 14 parcels of dagga with an estimated value of R1-million in the Mkhuze policing area.

Two suspects, both aged 28, were arrested and charged with illegal dealing in dagga.
