Don’t miss the action! Get to the Ballito Pro for surf, skate and sunshine

Enjoy the ultimate winter holiday at the 2026 Ballito Pro in KwaDukuza, featuring world-class surfing, and skateboarding competitions

If you’re looking for something to keep you and the family busy this holiday, it’s worth taking a trip to KwaDukuza for this year’s Ballito Pro presented by O’Neill, running at Willard Beach until 18 July.

Running alongside the world-class World Surf League competition is an epic festival programme that’s tailored to all ages and interests.

This weekend, one of the key attractions is the Ballito Skate Comp presented by O’Neill and Red Bull, taking place on Saturday, 11 July, at the Ballito Bowl.

South Africa’s top skateboarders will take on local talent in a day of high-flying tricks, big airs and plenty of action, making it a must-see for skateboarding fans.

For the music fans

If live music is more your style, you’ll want to stick around for the Ballito Pro Music Concerts presented by Corona.

Taking place on 16 and 17 July at Salt Rock Main Beach, the concerts are free to attend and feature a diverse line-up of music.

Festivalgoers can expect amapiano and Afro-tech performances on 16 July, with contemporary rock, pop and EDM acts.

Throughout the festival there are also Corona Sunset Sessions, with live DJs providing the soundtrack as the sun sets over the Indian Ocean.

Plenty more to enjoy

The Ballito Pro has grown into one of KZN’s biggest winter festivals, with activities for the whole family. You can also enjoy:

· Beach volleyball and soccer
· Retail and food markets
· Yoga and pilates sessions
· BMX demonstrations and extreme sports
· Art exhibitions
· Kiddies’ entertainment
· Environmental and conservation activations
· Fifa World Cup fan zone screenings

One of this year’s new additions is the SeaHer Women’s Surf Activation, a three-day programme encouraging women of all surfing abilities to build confidence in the ocean through coaching, wellness and community activities.

Biggest one yet

Festival organiser Collette Bundy said this year’s programme is one of the biggest yet.

“The Ballito Pro is the ultimate place to be this winter, with the inviting KZN north coast weather and an absolutely epic programme planned for all ages and interests.

“Each year, the event brings an incredible energy to KwaDukuza, and 2026 is shaping up to be one of our most exciting programmes yet. We’re delighted to channel support for Bafana Bafana at the Fifa World Cup through our fan zones, and the epic Surf & Turf Pros Tag Team – alongside our many popular festival programme favourites. This is definitely one festival you’re not going to want to miss!”

For Zululand families looking for a holiday outing, Ballito is just down the road, making it great for a day trip or weekend getaway.
