Fishing advice pays garrick dividends on the south pier

Local anglers reel in three garrick at South Pier in Richards Bay

It was a case of the passing down of fishing knowledge and experience bearing fruit when three nice garrick were reeled in at the south pier on Friday.

Two of these went to Keegan Pillay, who learned the tricks of the trade from his dad over a number of years.

Meanwhile, Sameer Peckoo landed his first ever garrick alongside Keegan, to whom he attributed his catch.

“I never had any luck after putting out live bait until Keegan arrived and started giving me advice. He put me onto the fish and I know there will be plenty more to come in the future.”
