Another one bites the dust as coach Gabriel departs Rich Boyz’ camp

Richards Bay FC and head coach Ronnie Gabriel part ways

The announcement late yesterday (Thursday) that Richards Bay FC head coach Ronnie Gabriel had parted ways with the club came as little surprise after a string of poor performances that sees the club hovering just above the relegation zone.

These decisions are always results-driven, and with only three draws and as many losses after six games, the ‘resignation’ was always imminent.

This despite two of the losses being by a single goal when the results could easily have gone the other way, but the 5-1 drubbing at the hands of Milford FC was the tipping point.

NRB’s assistant coach Jomo Gumede and Diski coach Sbusiso Msomi will act as interim coaches, starting with Saturday’s fixture against Sekhukhune United.

Speculation is that former TS Galaxy head coach Adnan Beganovic is lined up for the job, but that is premature and unconfirmed.
