Help reach annual Box of Blessings target

Community called to pledge their support for these Christmas boxes, filled with gifts and essential items, which will be donated to those in need

The community has shown great support for this year’s Walk in Faith Box of Blessings (BOB) project – but donations are still needed for 90 beneficiaries.

Founder Merinda Ackerman is appealing to the community to pledge their support for these Christmas boxes, filled with gifts and essential items, which are donated to those in need.

There are just two months left of this annual charity drive, now in its 13th year, to meet the target of around 400 boxes.

How it works

• The wishlists from boys and girls of various ages are submitted
• Donors can prepare a box or bag filled with items from their list of essentials
• Items must be new and unopened
• Sponsors can contribute toward incomplete boxes
• People can sponsor a box on the list which is prepared on the sponsor’s behalf
• Groups can team up and work together to meet a certain target number of boxes
• Each A4 box is covered and includes a school or sports bag with donated items
• The identities of children are confidential, and no information may be disclosed to the public

Items to include

Toothpaste and toothbrush, body wash, shampoo, facecloth or sponge, a pair of socks, razors for teen boys or sanitary towels for teen girls, any two snacks or treats, plus a toy, clothing item, or other gift requested from the child’s wishlist.

Help reach the target

“We understand the state of the economy and reassure donors that it’s the thought and love that counts as they prepare the gifts for the boxes,” said Ackerman.
