Mtunzini supermarket offers enhanced shopping experience

Mtunzini residents can now enjoy a wider range of products, improved pricing and a more convenient shopping experience close to home following the official relaunch of Mtunzini SUPERSPAR on 15 October.

THE wait is finally over for shoppers in Mtunzini.

Thursday saw the official opening and ribbon-cutting of Mtunzini SUPERSPAR, marking the completion of a major expansion and upgrade.

“We started planning the expansion in 2020, so it has been six years in the making,” said owners Daniel and Phillipa Verbaan, who took over the store in 2018.

“After running the store for a while, we realised that we wanted to create a bigger store with more choice and a better shopping experience. Seeing those plans finally become a reality means a great deal to us,” Daniel told the Zululand Observer.

Customers can now enjoy a wider range of groceries and household essentials at improved prices, as well as a dedicated in-store wine section.

A joyous moment for the Mtunzini SUPERSPAR team

Additional till points have also been added for shoppers’ convenience.

The new SUPERSPAR is intended to benefit the wider Mtunzini community.

“Our hope is that people will be able to find more of what they need right here in Mtunzini, with less need to travel out of town. We want to offer a wider range, quality fresh food, good value and personal service,” Daniel said.

“We hope this investment gives people confidence in our town and its future. Above all, we want it to be a store the community feels proud of and enjoys shopping in.”

Daniel expressed his gratitude to customers who supported the store throughout the construction process.

“Our staff, management team, builders and everyone involved have put an enormous amount of work into getting us here. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved together and excited to welcome everyone to Mtunzini SUPERSPAR.”
