SA’s top squash players in Empangeni

LOCAL squash players and enthusiasts of all ages gathered at the Empangeni Country Club squash courts on Saturday to meet SA’s number 1 and 2 squash players Steven Coppenger and Shaun le Roux.

Coppenger (1) and Le Roux (2) started off with a coaching clinic where they taught children and teens the fundamentals of the game.

The two went on to entertain the jam-packed crowd in an exhibition game which saw Coppenger beat Le Roux 2-1.

After the game, Coppenger took on and beat Zululand squash players Steven Sisisson and Alex Tulleken, with Le Roux beating Jeremy Kirkwood and Ian Thompson.

It was a hugely successful day, with one and all learning something new about the game.
