Mother City victory for De Beer

Martin de Beer, although a bit stiff after his fight, feels like a million bucks

EMPANGENI cage fighter Martin de Beer has won his second professional bantam weight fight, after a showdown in Cape Town on Saturday night.

De Beer went up against Congolese fighter Boney Bukaka at EFC 42 at Grand West Casino.

Heading into the fight as the favourite, De Beer said he was ‘rocked’ in the first round.

‘He was strong in the first round, but I made a good recovery in the second.’

De Beer won with an arm-bar submission hold just after landing a textbook right jab.

Although a bit stiff, he said he was feeling very good on Sunday morning.

‘But now I am going to take a few days off before going back to training,’ he laughed.
