VIDEO: Angler lands 238kg black Marlin in Richards Bay

RICHARDS Bay deep sea angler, Deon Labuschagne landed a 238kg black Marlin.

Weighing in at the Richards Bay Ski-boat Club off the vessel Squidlips, skippered by Anton Eicker.

Labuschagne said he fought the fish for close on three hours before it suddenly died.

‘We regularly tag and release, so it’s not the perfect ending for us, but it is a beautiful creature. My hands and arms are very sore,’ he said.

The crew filleted the fish and shared the meat with friends and fellow fishermen who came out to admire the catch.
