Super Rugby rules tweaked

Exciting rules variations to Super Rugby

DESPITE the new format and adding of extra teams into the popular Super Rugby League for 2016, new regulations have been included as well.

Teams in this year’s competition will have the opportunity to kick for touch after the full-time siren and take a lineout.

Another interesting change is the tryscoring bonus point law. The bonus, previously awarded only to teams scoring four tries, will now be added when a side finishes three tries ahead of their opponent.

The aim of these variations is to add excitement and drama into rugby games, as well as promote running rugby.

SANZAAR (South Africa, New Zealand, Australia and Argentina Rugby) made the announcement recently, which has left franchises with mixed feelings.
