Herd jumps ship

ZULULAND Yacht Club’s Reuben Herd jumped ship and joined the crew from Durban University of Technology (DUT) over the weekend when they competed in the three-day Intervarsity Match Racing Championships held in Durban Harbour.
Herd and the DUT team finished third overall behind second placed UCT and winners University of Stellenbosch.
Stellenbosch, captained by Alexander Ham and with Iliana Boura at the helm, were unbeaten heading into the finals.
They sailed a flawless event and claimed the bragging rights for 2016.
