New money rolls to victory

NEW Money schooled Grove Street in the finals of the Bounce Basketball league played at the uMhlathuze Regional Sports Complex on Saturday.
The local outfit took the title and bragging rights for 2016 after a 55-42 score line.
The win did not come easily though, as the teams were deadlocked at 14-all at the end of the first quarter.
New Money edged their noses in front by one point (22-21) at the end of the second quarter and then increased their lead by three in the third quarter (34-31).
Both teams had to drive in hard to the ring, as the pumping wind affected long shots and passes.

Six teams from the uMhlathuze area competed in the league this year, with the new league starting up in February.
