Cape Town the best in the world

Cape Town was elected best city in the world by UK travellers for the fourth consecutive year

IN what has been termed the most comprehensive, wide-ranging and reliable travel survey in the United Kingdom, the Telegraph Travel Awards named Cape Town 2015-16’s best city in the world.

As voted for by 75 000 Telegraph readers, the awards span 14 categories, two of which South Africa finished in the top three.

Beautiful beaches, natural splendor, vibrant culture and hip markets, eateries and clubs are what made Cape Town the world’s best city, while South Africa came in third in the Best Country category, beaten by first and second placed New Zealand and the Maldives respectively.

This year is the fourth consecutive year Cape Town has received this prestigious award. Second and third placed best cities were Vancouver and Venice respectively.
