RARE talents were offered a platform during the Street Culture Fair at Zikulise Community Arts and Craft Centre in Empangeni on Thursday.

From photographers, sculptors, painters and authors to visual and performing arts practitioners and even food designers, showcased their diversity and uniqueness in fine art.

This Ugqoko Productions initiative aimed to offer a platform for talent which don’t get enough exposure and ensure they are able to interact with the public.

‘It’s important to understand there is a variety of art out there and we want to change people’s mindset by showcasing what we call rare art. This region has loads of talent and we need to celebrate what they do,’ said Zonke Cebekhulu of Ugqoko Productions.

The one-day fair attracted hundreds of Zululanders who came in numbers to support the initiative.
