Teen drowns at Empangeni swimming pool

A teenage boy has drowned at the municipal swimming pool this (Sunday) afternoon.

Despite resuscitation efforts, the boy was unfortunately declared dead on the scene.

Paramedics responded quickly following reports of a drowning at the local pool.

This as residents were out in their number at the town pool to cool down as weather temperatures soar.

It is believed the bather had encountered challenges while swimming. The pool was subsequently closed on Sunday afternoon following the fatal incident.
