Kwa-Thema’s Sunday Crew marks Women’s Day with fun run and fitness drive

Kwa-Thema’s Sunday Crew Health and Fitness hosted its third annual Women’s Day Fun Run and Walk, bringing the community together to promote women’s health and fitness.

Kwa-Thema – Sunday Crew Health and Fitness recently hosted its third annual Women’s Day Fun Run.

The event received sponsorship from learners and performers, the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, KKK Shisanyama, and Mgazi Lounge.

It featured a 5km and 10km fun walk and an aerobics session.

The crew’s deputy chairperson, Jabulani Mashinini, said the main reason for organising such an initiative was to create awareness around women’s health.

“Another reason is that we need to celebrate women.

“Women face a lot and need a safe space where they can release steam. Fitness is always the best option,” he explained.

Mashinini expressed gratitude to their sponsors.

“Adults and children came to support us and for that, we are grateful,” he said.
