Churchill’s rebirth

The challenges that Churchill Selatole faced pushed him closer to God.

Churchill is from KwaThema and at the age of 14 he dedicated his life to the Lord. His life developed and grew in his walk with God. Churchill won the respect, admiration and love of those from his community and started getting a reputation as one of the Springs future star prospects.

He says because of his love for gospel music he was hired as a music director and leader of praise and worship at the Rise Up Bible Church since 1997.

He adds that he studied music at Eastside College with some of the well known musicians such as the Jaziel Brothers, Siphokazi and Kwela Tebza.

He has been involved in a number of different levels in the music industry since 1993 as pianist, song writer, producer, musical director and now an entrepreneur.

In the gospel music industry Churchill has worked with artists such as Hlengiwe Mhlaba, Ntokozo Mbambo and Benjamin Dube, just to mention a few.

“I believe that God created me to lead his people to his presence,” says Churchill.

His first album ‘Face to Face’ with 10 songs, was released in August 2004 and in 2007 he recorded his second album titled, ‘Evolution’ which was released in February 2008.

He then released his single CD titled, ‘This is my season’, as an announcement of his return to the stage after a break of six years.

“By realising my CD I wanted to confirm to the public that despite the challenges that I have faced, I am still a Christian and will forever do God’s work,” says Churchill.

He says when he was touring the Gauteng province he recorded his first live CD titled, ‘Rebirth of Churchill Selatole’.

He thanks God for being the centre of his success.

“I would have not been where I am today if it was not for God’s favour and blessings upon my life and I will forever give him praise and glory for he deserves it,” Churchill says.

Churchill will officially launch his new CD on April 4 at KwaThema Community Hall from 6.30pm. For more information, email him on radicalrecords1@yahoo.com
