Grand True Templars Inducted
Grand True Templars are ready to fight against drug and alcohol abuse in their communities.
The Independent Order of True Templars (IOTT) inducted a new Right Worthy Councellor and eight new Grand True Templars on Saturday.
The event was held at the Central Methodist Church in KwaThema, and drew crowds as far as Botswana.
According to the right worthy secretary Mandla Ntlemeza, ‘the IOTT is a combination of different churches, amongst them Presbyterian, Methodist, Anglican, Reformed, Zion, AME and Charismatic churches’ and is affiliated to the International Order of Good Templars.
Their aim is fighting drug and alcohol abuse in the community.
The organisation consists of 23 regions, they met for a conference in December and elected the members who were inducted officially.
Right Worthy Templar of the Southern region, Bishop Moss Nxumalo says the Grand True Templars are expected to start their duties immediately.
‘They will be visiting schools, churches and call public meetings to reach as many people as possible, in their campaigns to fight against drug and alcohol abuse in the community,’ said Moss.
Timothy Tshabala from the Republican Trinity Church in KwaThema was also inducted, “I’m ready to help the community to be rehabilitated from drug and alcohol abuse,” he said.
He also invited the community to come for counselling sessions which they have every Saturday at the church for people facing any difficult situations.
