Tsakane Secondary hosts health awareness day

Health awareness for Tsakane Secondary

HIV/Aids, TB, teenage pregnancy, drugs and alcohol abuse were some of the hot topics discussed at a recent health awareness day, held at Tsakane Secondary School.

The event was organised by the school’s RCL, in support of World Health month.

Their aim was to highlight issues which affect young people, and expert advice was shared by nurses, doctors and NGO representatives.

Learners were enlightened about the risks connected with the health issues.

They were also given references of places where they can access more information and assistance.

The day ended with a session of poetry, singing and dancing, which was aimed at welcoming Grade Eight learners to the school.
