School uniforms donated to primary school learners in Duduza

Duduzekani Tshidisehang Community Project successfully hosted the first of its two annual events on Friday.
The day, which saw 120 primary school learners from Duduza receive school uniforms, was largely supported by community members who came out in their numbers.
The event featured bikers, cyclists and a fun walk, coincided with Human Rights Day, and was held at the Duduza Multi Purpose Centre.
Twelve schools were invited to submit a list of 10 children each, who are eligible for the donation.
According to the project’s executive member Danny Ranthla, ‘the list was also given the green light by the Department of Social Development’.
Danny also explained why they did things differently this year.
“We usually hand out the uniforms on Mandela Day, however, this year we decided to hand out the uniforms, which include school jerseys, before winter season starts to keep the young learners warm.”
