Strong bond benefits grannies

Showing love, care and support

A breakfast and golf shirts were served to grandmothers of Leratong Luncheon Club, from KwaThema.

The donations were made at the Family Centre in Thema Road on Friday.

Thamsanqa Sibeko and Bruce Nkadimeng, both from KwaThema, were motivated to arrange the event as a way of ‘showing appreciation’.

“I was raised by my grandmother and share a very strong bond with her and I had this feeling inside that I need to do something that reflects that,” explained Thamsanqa.

He says he didn’t hesitate when Bruce suggested they partner and produce golf shirts which can be used as uniforms.

Thamsanqa said they could not accommodate all the grannies, managing to donate 26 golf shirts, while the group consists of 70 members.

“We hope other residents will continue from where we left off, until all grannies receive a golf shirt,” added Thamsanqa.
