Blood drive initiative in Pholosong

The community is urged to donate blood

The Pholosong Hospital appeals to the community to donate blood.

The hospital’s communications officer, Sihle Mafambane says because the country is faced with a shortage of blood the hospital, in partnership with the South African National Blood Services, is looking for blood donors.

He says in order to be able to donate blood, one needs to be healthy, 16 years old and above, have a pulse rate between 50-100 regular beats per minute, have not donated blood in the last 56 days, have a meal or snack in four hours prior the donation and living a safe sexual lifestyle.

The donation clinic will be held at the Pholosong Hospital on June 11 between 10am and 3pm. For more information, call Sihle Mafambane on 011 812 5136.
