Langaville residents get new dustbins

Monday was a lucky day for Langaville Extension One residents as they received new dustbins from the metro

The dustbin distribution to each household within Ekurhuleni started a few months ago. Langaville residents were all smiles after receiving their 240lt dustbins.

One of the residents, Thokozile Mngoma (51) says the dustbin will make her life easier.

“I will no longer have to carry a heavy black plastic bag but will only have to push the dustbin,” says Mngoma.

Ward councillor Mtumeleni Ndita says he is also excited about the dustbins.

He says he believes that the old people who live alone will no longer have to worry about who will help them take out their rubbish when the refuse removal trucks arrive to collect the rubbish.

Ndita says on Tuesday the dustbins were distributed to residents at Extension Three.

Extension Four residents’ turn will come after the distribution at Extension Three.

He says the Extension Three residents are also excited about the new electricity station that is under construction in that area.

The digging of the trenches to hold the electricity cables is already under way.

“Residents can expect their new power station to be operational soon and depending on the power station in Geluksdal will be no more,” says Ndita.
