Buddies’ stretch their helping hands

Buddies share with the needy through donation

The KwaThema Primary School buddies have extended their help to the needy children outside of their school.

This comes after the buddies donated food parcels, clothes and toiletries to 29 children at Tholakele Centre of Hope in KwaThema on Friday.

Nelly Nyembe, buddies’ coordinator said the donation was to put a smile on the faces of the children who need their help.

“We understand that some of these children lost both of their parents while others come from the families with no source of income,” said Nyembe.

Adding that the buddies are spreading their help to the entire community through raising funds at the school and asking for the donations from the learners and the teachers at school to help the needy.

“None of the recipients is from our school,” explained Nyembe.

Simon Phelembe, Grade Seven learner and the buddies’ chairman said after their first visit at the centre in March this year, they noticed that the children at the centre need their help.

“Because our aim is to lay a helping hand whenever needed, we decided to ensure that we bring back hope by showing love to the children of our age,” Simon said.

SGB chairman, Samson Magagula encouraged the buddies to continue with the good work of helping others in any way that they can.

“Because I am a father, I understand the importance of keeping children happy,” said Magagula.

To the needy children, Magagula said the words of encouragement.

He advised them to always put their education first so as to build their brighter future.

“We are very grateful about the donation, our children needed it,” Sibusiso Mahlangu, administrator at the centre said.

He thanked the love and the care that the buddies showed to the children at the centre.
