Lindo loves poetry

"The love for poetry in the township is growing," believes Lindo-mar Khumbane.

Lindo-mar (22) was born in Langaville Extension Five.

He went to East Rand School of Arts in Daveyton before becoming a media student at City Varsity College.

At the age of 12, Lindo and his friends fell in love with poetry.

He says when growing up they always wanted to help the young people from their township to get involved in poetry, something that he says other young people do not take seriously.

Lindo and five friends formed the 007 crew that helps expose the talent that the youth has.

He says because they realised that many young people have talent in writing, his company is providing them with the opportunity to write through writing down a poem and entering competitions.

He says to encourage poetry in Kwatsaduza, they host poetry sessions once a month.

Lindo says his dream is to see young people taking poetry to the next level that will allow them to provide for their families.

He says the one thing that he loves about poetry is that it is entertaining and it serves as one of the ways to deliver a message and express the feelings.

Lindo motivated the youth of Kwatsaduza to fight for their better tomorrow.

“It is time that the youth wake up and start working towards fulfilling their dreams,” he says.

Lindo concluded by mentioning that the 007 crew is busy organising the Kasi has got talent show that is expected to take place in a few months’ time.
