Ms Gay 2015

The Ekurhuleni Organisation Committee hosted Ms Gay 2015 Pageant at Riba Boxing Club in KwaThema on Saturday.

LGBTI organisations from Tembisa to Daveyton were also present to celebrate this special occasion.

The event began with Master of Ceremonies Ms Simply Blue 2012, Precious Marijane starting off with a dance-off lead by him.

Head judge, Ms Gay 2011, Sfiso Nkosi (Leonardo) dazzled the stage with a breathtaking song by Aretha Franklin.

He says being a man and dressing up as a woman is activism on its own.

According to Nkosi in this year’s Ms Gay they were looking for an ambassador the LGBTI community can look up to, not someone who will embarrass the community.

Marijane dedicated a song sung by Beyonce titled “Pretty Hurts”.

He says the song was dedicated to an incident which occurred during the week by homophobic people who tried to kill him and head judge Nkosi.

The pageant then began with the six contestants battling off in the first round modelling smart casual outfits.

The crowds were screaming and shouting for the different contestants during the second round, modelling swimwear, bikinis.

The final round ended off with the contestants strutting and flaunting about on the floor to grab the title.

Ntokozo Tshabalala took the crown with1st Princess, Somizy Sincwala and second princess Dada Zikali.

Ms gay 2012-2014, Tsantsa Blue Masigo handed over the title to the emotional Ntokozo Tshabalala.

Tshabalala says he could not believe that he finally took the title.
