Ex-prisoners empower youth
After serving many years in prison, Musa Zwane from KwaThema started a new organisation to help the youth.
The Movement for Change Organisation was formed in April last year.
It consists of six members, of which two are ex-prisoners.
According to one of the organisation’s founders, Musa Zwane, they formed the organisation to empower young people by giving them information on saving money.
He says they also educate the youth about the consequences of crime.
Zwane says after spending 15 years in prison he wants to share his experiences with the youth especially those involved in gangsterism.
“It breaks my heart to notice that young people are involved in gangsterism because they do not understand how painful the price is when one gets arrested,” he says.
Zwane explains that the organisation is also planning to visit schools to educate learners about crime as part of their crime prevention project.
He invites the community to a financial wellness workshop that will be held at ThembalikaZulu Primary School in KwaThema on Thursday from 10am until 2pm.
