KwaThema police spokesman Capt Mandla Phori says the police, who were patrolling in that area, noticed a car that was driving at high speed.
The vehicle did not stop at a stop sign and the police followed it.
“The police discovered that the 50-year-old driver was drunk,” says Phori, adding that while the officers were arresting the drunk driver, a 40-year-old woman, who was in the passenger seat, insulted them.
The woman was also arrested and charged with interfering with the police while they were doing their duty.
Both suspects are expected to appear in the KwaThema Magistrates Court, soon.
