Man hands himself in for killing wife

Reedville – A fight between a couple in the throes of separation is believed to have led to the death of a 35-year-old woman.

According to Springs police spokesman Capt Johannes Ramphora, the incident happened at an address along Vienna Street on Tuesday at around 3pm.

He says the husband (39), who was separated from his wife, handed himself over to police for stabbing and killing her.

The victim was declared dead on the scene by paramedics.

Ramphora says the man, who also sustained stab wounds to his leg, was arrested and will appear in the Springs Magistrate Court soon on a charge of murder.

The cause of the fight is unknown.
