Old Age Centre wishes its athletes good luck
KwaThema - The KwaThema Old Age Centre held a farewell lunch on Friday for their athletic team that will be representing the Gauteng region in the Active Aging Games in Northern Cape this week.
This will be the centre’s biggest team to compete in the nationals games since they began participating three years ago.
Centre manager Monica Kgoloane says they wanted to motivate and show how proud they are of the team’s efforts.
“They have shown dedication and commitment in their different sporting codes and we want to congratulate all 35 of them,” says Kgoloane.
Team member Bayana Morare says they appreciate the support from the centre and the other senior citizens.
“We will make our province and centre proud at the games, we want as many gold medals as possible,” says Morare.
The games started on Sunday and will end today (Friday).
Team coach Themba Skosana says his team is ready for the competition and he will be expecting quite a number of medals from them.
“I believe they going to do us proud at the games and most importantly, I want them to enjoy being a part of the competition,” says Skosana.
