Spelling success

KwaThema - Fred Habedi Primary School is extremely proud of two of their learners who excelled in a spellathon competition.

Kgaugelo Goretetseng participated in the Setswana division while Mahlohonolo Disenyane competed in the IsiZulu section.

Both learners are currently in Grade Three.

The learners each obtained first place in the first round of the competition and proceeded to cluster level.

There, the duo continued to perform well and both placed first again.

On October 13, they competed in the district level where Goretetseng was awarded first place.

Mahlohonolo, however, did not make it into the top three.

In the last round on October 15, Goretetseng obtained third place.

“We thank the Gauteng Department of Education East District for creating such a competition for our children.

“They have both done very well and we are very proud of them,” says class teacher Matshidiso Mofokeng.
