Police warn businesses to tighten security

Duduza – The SAPS has warned the owners of taverns, shebeens and other liquor outlets to be more vigilant and aware as there has been a steady rise in robberies at these establishments recently.

Duduza police spokesperson, W/O Imtiaz Yakub Rasool, says the increase in these business robberies is the result of the approaching festive season, where criminals are looking to make a ‘quick score’ for the holidays.

He adds that it is imperative for business owners to ensure their safety by implementing proper safety measures at their establishments and that they should not keep large quantities of money on hand.

Rasool advises that they should rather keep the movement of their funds a secret and random, as this will throw the criminals off.
