Senior citizens get a treat

KwaThema - Last Friday a local funeral parlour treated senior citizens of the Kwathema Old Age Centre to breakfast at the Old Age Centre in KwaThema.

This is one of the ways the business shows appreciation to the community of Kwatsaduza for their support.

Marketing manager of the company, Nathi Gabela, says they do something annually for the senior citizens of the community as a way to show care and remind them that they are special in the community and are not forgotten.

“The elderly are very important people in the community, they need to be treated well and shown love by all members of the community, ” says Gabela.

Centre manager Monica Kgoloane says she appreciates all generous donations and services that businesses and residents give to the centre.

“It gives the senior citizens so much joy, when they see that people still care about them in the community and send gifts to spoil them,” says Kgoloane.

She adds that the elderly from the centre had their Christmas party last month and this breakfast has made it twice as special for them.

“We will continue to work with the centre and assist them where we can so our elderly people are well taken care of,” adds Gabela.
