Armed suspects arrested

Duduza - Two male suspects were arrested for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and attempted murder by the Duduza police last Friday in Duduza around 3pm.

It is alleged that the two suspects carrying an unlicensed firearm attempted to rob a group of males of their cellphones.

It’s believed that when the men resisted handing over their cellphones, one suspect fired a shot to the ground in an attempt to scare them.

The group of men then chased the two suspects and cornered them in a resident’s house.

Members of the community alerted the police.

Harry Manaka of the Duduza Social Crime Prevention Unit says the two suspects are also linked to another case of attempted murder in Duduza.

“The police are investigating a case of possession of an unlicensed firearm and attempted murder,” says Manaka.
