A community speaks

Residents voiced their concerns during the Ntirishano Outreach Programme held last Wednesday, on the East Rand.

Led by the MEC for human settlements, the leadership of the Gauteng Legislature gathered for the Ntirhisano Community Outreach Programme, with the aim of monitoring service delivery progress at local government level.

The leadership, as well as the Ekurhuleni members of the mayoral committee, descended on various establishments on the East Rand.

They were impressed with the level of service delivery.

Thursday saw the second phase of the outreach programme at the Faranani Multi-purpose Centre, in Tsakane, during which community members were given a platform to voice their grievances to the leadership.

The mayor, Clr Mondli Gungubele, emphasised that, although great strides have been made with regards to public service delivery, the city is continuously and tirelessly working to ensure transformation within the Ekurhuleni region.

Citizens are urged not to lose heart when it comes to service delivery of local government.
